Hey.. I don't know when they started Discogs
It's been around for awhile, but finally...recently I signed up for it. And I started looking through it.
And so one day I thought Hawaiian Pup's
I got the Hawaiian Pups first uh..7" it cost $1.10
It was kind of crackly but...
It doesn't matter its kind of a stupid song anyways so I don't really care that much, but I had to have that record!!
The postage cost more than the record did of course - so I went through and I looked for some other records from the same seller cause they said they'd combine shipping on the records so if...
I'm gonna pay $1.10 for this 7 inch and then pay like $4.00
shipping. and then if I get a few more records
I guess..it'll still only be $4.00.
It said $4.00 for any number of 7 inch.
So I went through and found uh..some that were...
they weren't a $1.10 they were a $1.50 each.
So I went through and..
I had about 5 or 6 of them at one point but then I looked at my PayPal balance and I didn't have enough for that so I put em back and took some off. I cant even remember what they were.. kind of proves I didn't want them that much anyways.
But anyway i found two uhh...
Plainfield 7" for $1.50 each. So that was pretty cool.
I don't know how many 7" Plainfield had 20 of them maybe, I'm not gonna try to get all of them, but I mean they were $1.50 each
then i got an Exploited 7" too so it was like...
The three records were umm... $5.60 - for the records and then I think it was $4.00 shipping, maybe $3.50.
But umm.. so it was a pretty good deal, and then of course i got the Hawaiian pups 7". I don't know why but back in i think it was about 1982 i was listening to the University of Akron uh... student radio show, they were playing all of these new wave records at the time, and um I remember hearing the Hawaiian pups on that radio show, and a lot of times when i listening i would record it on a cassette so I could listen to it later, but i didn't that time and the name stuck in my head and i thought i really like that song, so I don't know about maybe 15 or 20 years ago I thought ...
I'm gonna find that Hawaiian pups record that i like that I heard back in 1982 so at the time, I found on eBay their 12",and I bought that, and i listened through the whole thing and I didn't like any of the songs, and I thought none of these songs are the write ones, I wouldn't of liked any of these dumb songs, and i thought that was their only record. i thought that 12" was the only thing they ever pout out so I was really confused thinking maybe it was on a compilation or something...
Lo-fi indie that recalls the glory days of Shrimper and Shimmy Disc, where rock-solid melodies sit inside rickety instrumentation. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 5, 2022
The terrific new record from Nyxy Nyx recalls the best of the early ’90s—slow-moving, shoegaze-adjacent songs with woozy melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 11, 2022
